Chiropractor & FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE PRACTITIONER
Samantha Boldt D.C.
Dr. Samantha Boldt grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and attended undergrad at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. She then moved down to Marietta, Georgia and received her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Life University. Dr. Sam's interests and passions lie in the total wellness of the human body.
Her other passions luckily coincide very well with the Colorado lifestyle. On weekends, you can almost always find her skiing if there is snow. Otherwise, hiking with her cat, rafting, and biking are all activities she can enjoy in warmer weather!
"I was lucky enough to know at the age of 16 that I wanted to be a chiropractor. The age of 16 was also the second time I had been to see a chiropractor. The first time was six years sooner when I dove into two feet of water onto my head, which caused lots of neck pain and stiffness for the year to come. Pretty soon after the accident, I was taken to a chiropractor, and rather than letting them adjust me, I screamed (a lot) and refused to be touched.
Looking back, I wish I had understood then the importance of having a properly aligned spine…..and how much less painful life is when everything is where it’s supposed to be! Even though I did eventually get to a chiropractor by the age of 16, a lot of the damage had already been done. I was having trouble breathing and a lot of tightness on the right side of my upper back and neck. Within 4 visits, the new chiropractor I was seeing was able to get me adjusted and feeling 90% better. I was able to breathe again, play the sports I wanted to play, and concentrate more in school. While that area is still a weak spot for me, I get adjusted once every 2-4 weeks to keep everything in place. I go in before things get out of place so that I (almost) never have the symptoms I started with in the first place.
I love helping other people feel the same relief that I did. Freedom from pain is a gift that is hard to match. While we may not get everybody feeling 100%, there are very few people we can’t help improve in some way. Increasing range of motion, decreasing pain levels, and decreasing the amount of numbness and tingling are just a few of the common results we have. If you’re nervous about starting chiropractic care for the first time, we begin very gently, and move forward only at a pace that you are comfortable with!
My own story is one of the reasons I encourage parents to bring their children in as well. How often do we look back on high school sports injuries or some stupid fall we had as a child and wonder if that was the start of our chronic neck pain, low back pain, knee pain, etc? The sooner we can fix a problem, the less likely that problem will affect us for the rest of our life. Luckily, most kids are not like me as a child, and love coming in to get adjusted. It’s amazing how many times smaller children will come in for their first adjustment, or to watch their parents get adjusted, and then go home to play chiropractor!"
